Bath Pride

March

a map showing the full march route of bath Pride 2026. It starts at Kingston Parade, moves up to Cheap Street, along to Grand Parade, up to Pulteney Bridge, along Great Pulteney Street, and finishing at Sydney Gardens.

We are marching loud and proud through the streets of Bath, starting next to the iconic Bath Abbey and finishing in Sydney Gardens, where Pride in the Park will be taking place.

The parade will start in Abbey Square, and will end at the Holburne Museum in Sydney Gardens, via Stall Street, Cheap Street, Orange Grove, Grand Parade, Pulteney Bridge, Argyle Street, Great Pulteney Street, Sydney Place and ending in Sydney Gardens.

Our applications for marching with a group have now CLOSED.
Please note: we reserve the right to decline groups from attending on arrival. Political groups are not allowed. Please see March Terms and Conditions at the bottom of this page.

Road Closures

We want to celebrate Pride but not cause disruption to the city. Because of this, we are closing any roads for as short a time as possible.

Roads will be closed 11:30-13:00.

Unfortunately there will be some interruption to buses between 11:30 and 13:00 on 22nd August. Please check before you travel.

Accessibility

Uneven paving along the route

Please be aware there is uneven paving regularly across the route with the most notable spots being from Kingston Parade to the front of the Abbey, on Cheap Street, and just after the entrance into the Pride site at Sydney Gardens.

Pot holes

There are pot holes where Stall Street joins onto Cheap Street, to the left of Laura Place fountain, and just after the entrance into the Pride site at Sydney Gardens.

Benches

There are plenty of benches along our route. This includes: In front of the Abbey, along Stall Street, and along both sides Great Pulteney Street (we will be marching on the pavement on the right-hand side).

Bollards

The route features a few sections of bollards. This includes: On Cheap Street, where Cheap Street joins Orange Grove. There are bollards to the side of Pulteney Bridge and Argyle Street but these are along the road rather than in front of it. 

Dropped curbs

There are dropped curbs at the junction of Great Pulteney Street and William Street, Edward Street, and Sydney Place. At the end of Great Pulteney Street we will cross over into the Holburne Museum/Sydney Gardens using a Stop and Go system. Please be mindful of the raised curbs next to this crossing.

Ramp

There is a ramp to get from the Holburne Museum into the site of Pride in Sydney Gardens. It is to either side of the main stairs by the entrance we will be going in. 

Bathrooms 

The nearest bathrooms along the route are:

  • SouthGate Bath public toilets
  • Parade Gardens public toilets
  • Henrietta Park toilets 
  • Holburne Museum toilets
  • Sydney Gardens toilets
  • Hired portaloos in Sydney Gardens 

March Terms and Conditions

1. Attendance

1.1 There is no entry fee for involvement with the march.

1.2 Any children attendees under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

1.3 Bath Pride reserves the right at any time to require the removal of any piece of equipment, display, decoration, wording, or other item from entry. 

1.4 Bath Pride reserves the right to order entrants in any such order it sees fit and all entrants and attendees must adhere to the directed route and must follow directions from any stewards or marshals, including during the assembly and dispersal of the march. 

1.5 Entrants must not leaflet or hand out promotional materials during the march.

1.6 Bath Pride reserves the right to change the start time, location and route, and to cancel the march at any time. In such circumstances no compensation will be payable to any entrant. 

1.7 Entrants cannot transfer any allocated space to a third party, and no space or surface shall be sold to third parties as advertising space. 

1.8 Entrants must not use any fireworks, sparklers, naked flames, firecrackers, explosives, pyrotechnics, or any other item of a similar nature. 

1.9 Entrants must not have any motorised vehicles or equipment of a similar nature. 

2 Health and Safety

2.1 Entrants must take all reasonable steps to ensure that all relevant requirements of Health and Safety legislation are met during their participation in the Parade. 

2.2 Entrants must be prepared for adverse weather conditions with appropriate protection. 

3 Insurance and Indemnity

3.1 Entrants shall indemnify Bath Pride from and against all loss, actions, claims, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities of whatever nature however incurred by the Council in connection with the entrant’s entry and participation in the march (including its assembly and dispersal periods). 

3.2 Bath Pride shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury incurred by any entrant to or participant in the march (whether an individual or organisation), or to any equipment forming part of an entry, or to the property of any person taking part in the march (whether or not such property forms part of an entry) at any time during the march (including its assembly and dispersal periods) howsoever such loss or damage is caused, save only that Bath Pride does not exclude liability for any personal injury or death caused by the Bath Pride’s own negligence.  

3.3 Bath Pride shall not be liable for any loss, damage, claim or expense of any nature whatsoever in the event of cancellation of the Parade for whatever cause or withdrawal of an entry from the Parade under any of the clauses of these conditions

4. Additional Considerations

4.1 Entrants agree to participate in any publicity and documentation organised by Bath Pride in the period leading up to and during the march. 

4.2 Disputes as to the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions will be resolved by the Bath Pride Trustee Chair or Organising Committee Chair, whose decision will be final.    

4.3 All attendees and entrants will be kind, compassionate, and respectful of each other and the wider public at all times.
